Publicum EEG lab

This experiment will assess your level of awareness of low-volume sounds, images and associated cognitive processes and will help us to understand brain mechanisms of auditory perception. You will be asked to assess how well did you heard a weak sounds, saw weak images or both. More details on the procedure will be disclosed during the experiment. Participation is voluntary.

After the experiment is completed, you can receive participation hours (“koehenkilösuoritus”), which is needed for basic psychology studies. Alternatively you can receive a 10 SuperGift card worth 10 euros, which can be used for numerous different stores, online stores and services. Please note that the Gift Card is taxable income (you do not need to bring the tax card with you).

Duration: around 2 h

You can participate if you are
-18-35 years old
- right-handed
- have normal (or corrected to normal by glasses or lenses) vision and normal hearing
- do not suffer from migraine, neurological or psychological diseases.

Waiting you in the lab!



Place: Publicum, basement. Arrive at the Publicum's lobby and go to the bottom of the stairs that lead from the lobby to the basement. The researcher will meet you and guide you to the lab.

Tässä tutkimuksessa koehenkilöt suorittavat havaintotehtäviä katsomalla näytöllä vilkkuvia kuvioita ja kuuntelemalla ääniä kuulokkeiden kautta. Tavoitteena on tunnistaa tietoisen kuulon ja näkemisen kognitiivisia mekanismeja. Voit osallistua, jos olet:
-18-35 vuotias
- oikeakätinen
–varustettu normaalilla (tai laseilla korjatulla) näkökyvyllä ja normaalilla kuulolla
- et kärsi migreenistä, neurologisista tai psykiatrisista sairauksista.

Mikäli joudut perumaan varaamasi ajan, ilmoita siitä mahdollisimman ajoissa tutkijalle (dmitri.d.filimonov@utu.fi).

Suorituspaikka: Publicum (Assistentinkatu 11), kellarikerros. Saavu Publicumin aulaan ja kävele portaat alas kellarin ovelle. Tutkija tulee hakemaan sinut ovelta.
